I take the train from 19:00hrs from Amsterdam to Düsseldorf, here I change trains. In my sleeping couch I find folded sheet and a blue blanket. I sleep on top of a bunk bed. My journey will take me to Milan, but Thesiger’s book Arabian Sands takes me to the Empty Quarter. Each page is almost a book, complex stories and many events follow eachother very rapidly. Far from here, a book with strange travel adventures – new borders; Wilfred Thesiger is in search of his own horizon.
